What are you eating today?

Have you eaten lunch already? Or maybe you're onto dinner now? Well, what did you eat? [I haven't eaten yet, bummer]. Have you ever thought about having a food journal? I'm actually doing that right now. I've noticed that I've eat a lot that I said I did. Just saying, "Oh, I don't eat breakfast, but I do have snacks here and there, I eat lunch, and dinner." That don't seem like much, but after seeing it on paper. Good golly molly! This is how my food journal consisted of yesterday [I kid you not].

  • Breakfast: Nothing
  • Lunch: water, Chalupas, Mexican Fry Bread
  • Snack: Jumbo Cinnamon Roll
  • Dinner: Grape soda, Beef ravioli
Now, doesn't that look bland? But, if you check out the calories of everything, you would know that my calorie intake was a lot. I know that some people say "Oh, don't count your calories." I'm not a nutritionist, but I [personally] think its okay to see how much calories that you're putting into your body from time to time. As studies show, the [DV] Daily Value intake is 2,000 [which is meant for women. its 2,500 for men], well if you're intaking [as a woman] 3,000 over a 24 hr period without exercising, than your body is storing all that fat rather than burning it..[Like I mentioned, I'm not a nutritionist, so I might be wrong, lol..I think I should stick to cooking and leave the facts to them, lol].

I do, however, have the recipes to the Chalupa and Mexican Fry Bread, so be sure to check it out in the recipe tab!

Also, I want to welcome my newest contributor all the way from merry ol' England, Lollie! Thanks for joining/contributing to Cooking Arrangements.

Let's eat!,

Food blog surfing and still under-construction!

Hello! I would like to tell you all about my adventure of "blog surfing". I know there are times when you go onto a web site that you've subscribed to, but you just don't feel a connection to....WELL..there's a site called http://www.foodblogblog.com and it has every foodie blog that you can think of. Written by normal folks who enjoy cooking and foods. Some are in English and some aren't. So, go check out [and then come right back here, lol].

I still haven't had time to fix up this blog to my liking...no excuses...but I'm working on it. I know that it'll just take some time before I can gain any type of exposure or following [lol]. In the meantime, be sure to check out the recipes page, there are most definitely some recipes on there [delicious, I may add].

Handling your knife and Basic knife skills

It is very important to know how to handle your knife when you are cooking. You don't want to accidentally chop off your finger, right? In the lessons tab, I have posted videos of "how to handle your knives" and "basic knife skills" [courtesy of youtube, lol]. In the video, two professional chefs will tell you everything that you need to know. Whether you're an experienced cook or not, it is important to practice this.

Whenever you have the free time, go to the grocery store and buy some carrots, onions, or any types of fruits and veggies to practice your knife cuts. Practice makes perfect. Even I still have to hone in on my knife skills.

Welcome to Cooking Arrangements!

Hi there! Welcome to my first food blog. [You can check out my profile, if you want to know a little more about me.] There's a lot that you can look forward to in Cooking Arrangement. I'll have pictures, videos [check out the 'video food bar'], recipes, and you name it. Unlike most food blogs, Cooking Arrangements isn't going to just have pictures of foods with recipes below for you to copy down or print out. It'll also have lessons for non-experienced cooks. For example: Basic knife skills. The lessons will come in three formats: 1. written, 2. step-by-step videos, and 3. step-by-step pictures [even if i have to hand-draw them...just kidding].

If you feel like you need to go back over a lesson, don't worry. There's a lesson tab right next to the recipes tab. So easily accessible that you don't have to worry. I really enjoy cooking. I feel that I am very passionate about cooking. I hope to share this blog-site with many other foodies, cooks, culinary students, or even people who don't even like to cook, lol.

Due to mommyhood and school, I won't be able to post at most times, but when I do, I'll make sure that there's a lot for you guys. I also LOVE interacting with people. So, I'm very open to any feedbacks. Again I really hope you all enjoy Cooking Arrangements!

Let's Cook together,
